Buy the Berries, Beware of the Building

It’s not often that you see a story that begins with “A controversial blueberry farm…” But that’s the way The Daily Gazette in Schenectady, New York began its report on the farm near Galway that is on the market for $2.3 million.

The property is called Star Farms, includes a one-room cabin nicknamed “The Happy Shack,” and its 4,000+-foot home has four more bathrooms than bedrooms (7 compared to 3).

The 30 acres of blueberries isn’t the source of controversy. But the 5,300 square foot event space called “The Stargazer” (can hold 240 people) got built without a permit or fire-suppression system, local authorities confirmed.
