Landus—the grain, seed, and agronomy service company based in Des Moines, Iowa—has a new CEO, its third leader in 2025. The company describes itself as Iowa’s largest farmer-owned cooperative.
Eric Heismeyer has taken over as Chief Executive Officer, effective September.
“I’m honored to step into this role and eager to lead the team at Landus,” Heismeyer stated in a release from the company. “The board and leadership team have developed a focused, actionable plan to launch into our 2026 fiscal year and I’m excited to stand shoulder to shoulder with them to drive results that matter for our farmer-owners and communities.”
Heismeyer was most recently President of Agri-Food Value Chain Consulting in Wentzville, Missouri. Previously, he has served as Vice President, Chief Customer – Global Food Solutions with Bunge, and Divisional CEO at North America Corn Milling Value Chain.
He takes over for Sam Caton, Landus Executive Vice President of Sales, who served as Interim CEO since April. Previous CEO Matt Carstens had stepped down.
